Specific Steps to Install Kiln Head Parts of Rotary Kiln

The most frequently asked by customers among them is how to properly install the kiln head parts.    After proper adjustment and installation of main parts in rotary kiln, start installation of other auxiliary parts such as kiln head, kiln hood and kiln seal. The cover of kiln head and kiln tail is relevant to thermal technology. Its structure are mainly made of large weld assembly. Discharge connection, thermal expansion and displacement amount should be taken into consideration in the installation process. There exists a gap between rotary kiln cylinder and kiln head and tail. In order to prevent absorbing external air and stabilize thermal technology, a set of seal must be set at respectively kiln head and kiln tail. There are various forms of seal equipment which can be divided into two kinds, labyrinth type and contacting type. Contacting type can be classified into scale type, graphite block type, cylinder slip ring type and etc.

1. Before installation, rotate the kiln and check radial deflection amount. Position line at where the rotary part is installed.
2. Check seal cover assembly. Check hole site of all kiln cover and kiln tail.
3. While installation, install guide plate first. Then, install bell mouth and moving part. Finally, install seal ring.
4. After finishing each part, check relative position and reserved space one by one. Pay attention to the swell capacity of cylinder and radial deflection amount in order to prevent excessive thermal expansion.
5. Make sure welding quality and make sure full welding gap in case of that weld seam cracks.
6. Make sure the oil road and oil pipe smooth of friction plate. Add oil until there is oil squeezed out of friction surface.
7. Make sure there is tightening device (spring or heavy hammer). Tightness should be adjusted properly, not too tight and not too loose.
8.make sure that there is no open end at the connection surface between active friction ring and fixed friction ring.
